It's rose time. Our garden is in full bloom and so is the rose garden in the botanic gardens by the lake.

North East Victoria Quilt Display at Benalla

Thank you to everyone who supported the North East Quilt Display in Benalla - it was a great success with excellent examples of styles and fabrics from the past 30 years, plus many antique quilts. 'Quilt overload' could have occurred as we had 420 exhibits to display, a mammoth task!

Many big name patchers, quilters & designers were represented and/or present, the day was perfect (but for some unwelcome wind gusts), stash supplies were replenished at the trade stalls, Rotary once again showed their catering skills and a nice profit will go to the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation - North East Victoria.
Here are a few shots taken on the day.

The Villa Nuffka garden is a contemporary interpretation of Italian gardens we have experienced, both classic and country.
My grand plan was somewhat thwarted by the triangular shape of the block we acquired, however this allowed more free creativity and the end result pleases us.

This is what the rear garden looked like in September 2003 when we purchased the house.

and this is the court yard area in February 2004.

After two years of intensive gardening and continuous maintenance, we now enjoy our Italian influence garden which brings back many happy memories and creates more.

Here are a small selection of shots from the garden in October 2013.

The irises have just about finished flowering and the roses will be in full bloom soon.

Villa Nuffka Views - take 2

Saturday 12 October 2013
I guess if you sign up for a Blog and then don't use it for 10 years, they decide you don't want it and it dies!

Originally Villa Nuffka Views was to be a combination of views of the development of Villa Nuffka's garden and a few personal views thrown in for fun. Well, the garden is well developed so I should post a photo or two just to prove that I have been doing something in the past 10 years.

Next post will be the latest spring look in our garden.
