Lago di Chiusi and Morami winery

On the strength of our bird watching exercise at Lago Trasimeno on Tuesday, today we decided to go to Lago di Chiusi to see if there were birds there. It has been quite cool and windy today so not really a good day for birds or photographers. However we had a pleasant day visiting a place we had previously only driven past.

There were several jetties which allowed us a better view of the birds and the landscape.

The farming land around the lake is prosperous and very attractive to drive through. Unfortunately in Italy there are no rest spots, picnic spots, panoramic stops or even pull off places along the roads so I am never able to show you the best of the countryside and scenery. These two photos are using large magnification ( and unfortunately all photos have to go through a size reduction process so the tablet doesn't have a stroke!)

We had a picnic and sat in the sun, sheltered by the car, and read our books.

Returning back to Macchie we visited the Morami winery and Agriturismo. They only make four different wines and they grow all their own grapes. We tasted the reds and they were excellent, and of course, made some purchases.
The agriturismo business has eight units plus two houses and despite the weather there were people enjoying the big pool in a gorgeous setting.

So this was our day, but this evening we have more entertainment and pleasures to come!
